Impression of Good Samaritan
Luke’s gospel contains the account of the Good Samaritan in chapter 10. Jesus tells this parable in response to a lawyer who inquires about how to receive eternal life. In response, Jesus says that one must love God and one’s neighbor as themselves. Then the lawyer asks Jesus, “Who is his neighbor?”
A parable that Jesus told in the New Testament is the one about the Good Samaritan. It tells the story of a man who gets beaten and robbed by thieves while traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho. When a priest and a Levite see the man, they decline to assist him. The man is then found by a Samaritan who assists him by dressing his wounds, driving him to a hotel, and covering the cost of his medical care.
Adding that, The Good Samaritan parable teaches empathy and the importance of lending a hand to those in need. It demonstrates that regardless of a person’s ethnicity, religion, or social standing, we should assist them.
